First time use is a bit daunting. So much information - it is like a three ring circus. A "user guide" would be welcome.
I hope that my Settings - tracking options will de-clutter the time line and allow me to learn the program. A good guide would be to set the program to only tracking 1 thing, for example Word. The capacity of this program will be needed by Microsoft Office users now that the Journal has been reduced in functionality.

It probably helps if you think about that it does. It just tracks which applications you've used and for how long.

Tag overrides other descriptions?
Is there any way to see, when you are inside a tag, which aplication/document it refers to?
I have taken for example this violet tag but and there are many aplications/documents I move to this tag but I cannot identify them here.

1 voteFirst double click on zoom timeline to enable auto zoom.
Then go to Timesheet, make a timesheet filtered to this tag, then usage report will show a summary of used applications

the ability to set goals for every app
i want to set goals for the apps that i use .... for example
chrome >>> 2 hours per day
and when i use chrome for 2 hours , manic time send me a notification for that to stop using it

Custom Naming / Tagging for screenshots within a project
It would be great, if I could be able to group screenshots based on the projects that are opened. I often switch Projects in Cinema 4d and I would like to be able to make a timelapse video based on a single project.

Selective Server Sync (Employee Privacy enhancement)
Currently an employee, working from home, tags all their time in ManicTime. But its currently an all or nothing approach when it comes to syncing to the server.
Instead .. have an indicator bar on the top of the timelines that shows which segments are to be sync'd to the Server ... an employee selects time on any timeline .. right-clicks and chooses "Submit to Server" .. then that time segment is sync'd to the server based on the server settings of 'what to sync" (E.g. sync everything or specific timelines)
This allows employees to keep track of their time…

You can do this now, when you connect to the server you can choose which timelines you want to share.
You can also select this for all connected clients in Administration, Client settings.

All child windows to be grouped under the parent application
In my firm, we use software that creates child windows that take up a serious amount of time during work hours. Unfortunately, manictime just shows them with the window_name (eg. Options, settings etc) that has no value to the manager.
It would be absolutely wonderful if all these child windows could be group under a single parent app and the time shown would correspond to the total time spent to the parent application.
1 voteI think it should work this way. Even if Applications timeline shows different titles, in bottom right part the application should be the same.

Add Display Setting for First day of Week - Sunday, or Monday
I do a lot of work with systems that are Europe based and all of them have weeks start on Monday and end on Sunday (Which I rather like... The weekend, is the weekend, not the week book ends)
Without this capability I'm always fighting the Timesheet and can't use "Previous Week", for example. I always have to use a Custom and set the begin/end dates. I first looked for that feature in Settings -> Display. I don't know if there is a better place.1 voteManicTime will take Windows start of week by default, but this can be changed in Settings, General.

Disabling Screenshots for specific applications
It should be possible to specify applications or websites for which no screenshots should be taken.
If you have applications or websites with confident information (such for example password tools or financial tools) it is not desirable that these contents are visible by others in screenshots.1 vote -
Please focus "Tags" input after click on "Tag last untagged time"
Maybe a Bug or missing Feature.
Using "Tag last untagged time" as described on

The Cursor blinks on the "Tags" input field, but typing do NOT appear there.
Have to click it with the mouse first, then typing works.Hint: using a shortcut to open the "Tag last untagged time" works better, typing is possible without mouseclick.

Daily duration time options
When I ended work at 1.00 AM and turned off computer, and then turned on computer again at 20:00 - Daily Duration chart tells me, that I've worked 20 hours. It should count only time when computer is turned on.
1 voteYou can use Settings, General, Time shift to shift working day. Set to for example 4, that would mean that days are counted from 4am to 4am and this should then work correctly.

Restart manic after update
Twice now I have updated the desktop app and not had it restart until I rebooted or noticed it wasn't running. I caught it quick this time but the first time it was 3 days of lost tracking. If I have it set to start automatically with windows you would think restarting after an update would make sense.

Support tracking of document names in the Brave browser
I'm on Linux, and have installed the ManicTime tracker and the browser extensions for Firefox and Brave. However, the document titles only appear in the timeline when I am using Firefox. Brave usage only shows up in the Applications track.

Default Timesheet Settings
Allow us to set default timesheet views. Every time the program restarts, I have to go into the timesheet and change the view that I want to see, "today/billable/time format". I would love to be able to set that as the default, so I don't have to change that every time. I'm sure other people have different settings that they would like to be default to. That would be very helpful, thanks.

v2024.3.0.2 Issue with Simplified Chinese font rendering
In version 2024.3.0.2, there is an issue with the Simplified Chinese font rendering, as it seems to be using Japanese glyphs.

2 basic essential features missing
Click on URL to open a weblink
Type the date you want to go to. Now I have to click 365 times to go a year ago. Are you joking? What if I want to go 3 years ago or more?

Improve display of errors posting to Jira
I love the fact that now each entry posted to jira has it's own row and it's own result.
However if one of the entries lower down the list has an error you may not notice.
I would like to see something eye-catching at the top of the list to say something like 1 of 23 entries failed to update.

Display times as deicmal on timesheet view

I'd like to display the times in decimal on the timesheet view.
Because: when transcribing into workflowmax I could use the number pad for data-entry instead of having to reach for the colon key.0 votes
