I have a feature request ...

  2. Adding a "tentative" attribute to tags that are entered in advance

    It would be nice to be able to use ManicTime to plan my day as well. As it is now, I use a separate tool for planning what I'm going to do, and then transfer over all the tasks into ManicTime to track them. You can currently add tags for future work, but these estimates may end up being incorrect. And when you go back to manic time, there is no way to tell which tags you entered after working on them and which tags were entered before starting them.   3. ManicTime Version 2023.1.1.0 should start

    When I try to start the program, it should not give me this error.

  4. Google Maps Location History or KML Import

    KML with specified location data is generated via a standard URL. This url downloads the past 24 hours by default but can be fed additional info to get more https://www.google.com/maps/timeline/kml

    I could see it importing directly but even if there was just a way to import a KML that would probably be helpful.

  5. Autotag time duration can be calculated from data (and appended to Notes)

    Dynamic autotags are great. I use them to append into my Notes information about actual filenames, so I can more easily generate timesheets which I then review and revise to explain to clients what I was doing during the 3.3 hours (for example) that I was working on their matter. It would be helpful if the filename in the Notes could also have a duration added afterwards (perhaps in brackets), so that I can easily assess what I spent more time on as compared to other files.

  7. Take screenshot on every tab switch - Applications are more and more becoming tabs

    Take screenshot on every application switch is very useful, but I am running more and more 'applications as tabs' in Chrome, so the 'on application switch setting' misses more detail than I would like.

    I use this feature to go back in time and recover data, see what was happening at a given time. Storage is not a concern for me, granularity is. I end up setting my screenshot interval to 15 or 30 seconds, but still miss important details at this level for certain 'way back machine' type use cases.

  8. Enhancements to Advanced Search

    • When opening Advanced Search, please show the last used date in the start date of "Date between"
    • Consider allowing saving custom date ranges
    • Automatically activate "Date between" when any of the date fields or the "Custom field" are clicked (avoids an unnecessary mouse click)

  10. Are there any plans to develop ManicTime Mac even further?

    I initially thought the ManicTime Mac app was just something with no client interface and I can at least turn on the stopwatch and add a tag to the server. But it appears I cannot? It seems counterproductive to tag certain activity in the Mac later as I'll have to zero in on the parts where actual work was done.

    Will there be improvements in the not-so-distant future? Thanks!

  11. Screenshot pop-up window: pin to always on top

    I like that I can now pop-out the screenshot pop-up window, but I would like this window to be 'pinnable' so that it stays on top of ManicTime while I am clicking back and forth, doing my timesheets.

  12. Selective Image Scrolling

    Allow any kind of selection on the timeline and provide the ability to scroll through just the images for what is selected optionally removing or re-including the selection covered by the shown image for the final log entry and the end of the process.

    Add help text, a GUI, or similar to make regular expressions more discoverable and more easily used by users who are not advanced.

  14. Option to change time format to 24hr

    I prefer to use time in 24hr format e.g. 15:30 instead of 3:30 pm.
    If there could be an option to set this I would be very appreciative.

  15. Space to select entries/folders, left-right to collapse-expand folders

    When checking the "Day" view, on the left bottom pane you can use Space to select properly. It select/deselects the highlighted line.

    BUT on the right bottom pane Space behaves oddly. To be precise it selects/deselects the checkbox the focus is on, not the line which is highlighted.

    ... and when you introduce folders also the only way to expand/collapse it apart from clicking on the +/- before it is to focus on the +/- icon and push "Space".

    Upon testing, spacebar seems to work properly. Since there is a lack of votes, adding shortcuts for folders will have to take a backseat to other requested features.

    A command line option to exit the program would be helpful; that way I can automate backups even more.

    Exiting/stopping a service is already natively supported on all operating systems that ManicTime is available on therefore this feature is unnecessary.

  17. Possibility for copy the notice

    I have to transfer it to another Programm. I would like to copy all notices simple. Sometimes you habe 3 entrys with different notices. At the moment you have to copy I from every entry :-(

    What you can do is select multiple lines with CTRL or SHIFT select.

    Then Copy(Ctrl-C), then paste to excel and Notes will be in its own column. Then you can just select that column and paste somewhere else.

  18. "treat sound as Active" exept some program

    There is missing a very important thing in this option "treat sound as Active", there must be "except this programs" option. For example, some music apps didn't need to "treat sound".

  20. Use the same tag list for Tags and AutoTags

    I almost always need to use the same set of tags for both manually tagging and auto-tagging, as auto-tagging will take care of applications and specific app titles or app title filters, but if I switch to more general apps like notepad/chrome/windows explorer in between the specific app, I still want to tag those apps under the same tag (say it's a project name for example). However currently the two lists are completely independent, and I have to create the same tag in both tag lists :(
