Track the folders wgere the project files are located
It would be nice if it was possible to track the Folder were the files are located. Most businesess use a folder structure that represents all the projects that are running. This way you only need to track the folder P:\clients\project.. and all files with this string will be tracked for one project.
Thanks,
Jaap3 votesMT tracks folders for specific applications. There is no way to get project file for any open application, so it is not something we can do for all applications which exist. We can support this for specific applications.

Nagging window to remind me of tagging
I need a pop-up window that remindes me every X (~15) min to tag.
And ask me
"Are you still doing <lastTag>?"
[YES] [No] -> select other tagLike the "Away" window, less intrusive but still as persistent.
During daily business, I tend to forget tagging
3 votesI think this is the same as this one.

Add Ability to Specify Tag Beginning... Now.
Ideally I could hit a button to define what Im working on starting right then (eg Project A), and then hit the button a time later when I switch to something else (eg Project B) and so on with projects and lunch etc so that at the end of the day a complete profile would exist based on the projects I specified I was working on.

Individual height scaling of timelines
Instead of scaling all timelines together, it would be much more convenient to scale each timelines height individually.

Update previous tags based on saved file name or folder name
Please add the functionality to automatically tag email replies and the original message when we save a file in a specific Outlook folder. The tag name would be the same as the folder name.
This same functionality could be added to automatically tag word documents based on the project folder in which they are saved.
For instance... I will read an email in my inbox, then reply to that email. As soon as I reply to the email, I have software that automatically moves the original email and the reply to a specific folder in Outlook. I want Manic Time…

Select and copy fields from timesheet
Since I'm registering time with Oracle PSA I have to reenter the timesheet data manually in the fields of the Oracle PSA Web Application.
It would help tremendously if it would be possible to select individual fields on the timesheet in MT and copy paste it into corresponding field of the PSA web Application.3 votesnot enough votes

add file path to file reports & group by tag(s)
First... I LOVE YOUR PROGRAM! Thanks. :)
Here's something that would make it even cooler...
I would like to be able to analyze sub-tasks related to the individual fils I'm working on. Files often have the same naming structure so the reports don't show which project it was part of. If files are grouped and reported with the path or could be grouped by the tags I could analyze which files were being worked on for how long on a project. This would be too difficult to tag manually because I may be working between many files for short periods…

Track paths in dayview
Filenames are listed; date and time is listed; but many filenames are generic, repeated, or simply not descriptive. Knowing where to find them will help to identify what project they relate to.
3 votesThis would be great, but sadly there is no silver bullet for this. There is no way we can get file path from open applications. All we can do is rely on APIs of the applications to get this information, but applications need to support this and we need to write this for each application separately.
So currently it works for some apps, mostly office apps and few others which have this displayed in the window status bar. -
Allow a statistic to contain values from multiple timelines
I would like to be able to combine values from multiple timelines into a single statistic so that they appear in a single combined bar in the chart.
Example:
Active Time + Label: Sales Meeting
I don't want to have to manually label all of my active time, but I do want to be able to see how much time I spend "working", which for me would be (all active time + specific labels).

Exclude window titles from Screenshots
It would be great to be able to exclude window titles from screenshots in addition or instead of process name.
This way I could still reference what kind of task I was doing on a work web site and not collect screenshots of my facebook slacking in the same browser.

save statistics page for later
currently, it is already possible to save the statistics graph as an image.
i would like to be able to save the data i'm browsing as an internal manictime file, that i could open later and see the same results, being able to tweak them. essentially, then, loading this saved file would open up the statistics page with the filters and results loaded.

Auto-tag based on other tags
For example I google ManicTime and click on the ManicTime website. I can tag the latter activity based on its URL, but how do I tag the former as "ManicTime, ~googling"? Sometime the keyword does not go into the title, so I can't use it to autotag. Both the document and application timelines are the same, so I can't use append tag. The absorb tag just has the same color of the activities in between in the timeline, not a tag that I actually want.
This is also useful when you want an autotag to be prioritized, that is no…
3 votesI don't quite understand the solution. Absorb was added just for this use case, but what you could do instead is make a normal autotag for google, with query part as part of autotag.
Select document timeline, in filter below type:
#"https:\/\/www\.google\.com\/search\?q=([^&]*)"
then click down arrow on the right of filter text box, Add to autotag and for title type:
{{1}}, googling
Then you will get autotags like manictime, googling....

Custom day start and end times
I often stay awake doing stuff past midnight, but I'd still like to class my activities as being within the previous day; whatever they be.
I'd find it useful if "day" tracking ends when my computer shuts down or something; or when I click a button to specify that the day is over.
3 votesSounds like Day start shift.

Tag Reminder as New Window
I don't ever really see the little bubble notifications in the corner of the screen reminding me about my current timer, or to tag untagged time.
It would be nice if a new window could pop up, or a sound.
I have two monitors, and I am rarely looking at that bottom corner.

allow single tag to span midnight
Adding tags crossing midnight splits them into two instances of tagged time. I'd like to be able to easily estimate contiguous time spanning the day boundary, but it requires tagging twice and performing arithmetic.

Paint with tags
Select a tag from a list and just use the cursor to apply to timeline. Right now you can do similar, but in reverse order. Select the time, click Add Tag, select tag from list. My idea would be to have a list on the side of the main screen while using the Paint Brush tool. The tool and tag stay active.

Prevent the Escape key from closing the Notes window
I accidentally hit escape when typing my notes on occasion and it stinks because I write quite long notes at times.
This is more common for me because I type in Colemak and my "caps lock" key is an escape key.
3 votesThere is not much support for this one. I don't think it is a good idea since it breaks the classic Windows Esc closes window...

Visual Indicator for Gaps in Time During Day
Please add a visual indicator for where there are gaps in time during a day greater than a certain amount of time (say 5 to 15 minutes) and allow the addition of a tag for that time.
