  1. Automatically update Tag Time Day View after a client syncs

In the day view where you tag time, automatically update the screen after a client syncs or after x minutes.

I like to leave the browser open to the server. Right now, I have to reload the page to see new usage/tags/etc. that have synced. Automatically updating the screen would be helpful when you have multiple clients or with the Mac/Linux clients.

The timelines update every minute or after coming back to the tab if the tab was inactive for more than 30 seconds (if there is anything to update of course).

  2. mac screenshots

Please consider adding ability to send screenshots from mac client to the MT server - looks like server is going to be a viable interface for editing the timeline so adding the ability to save screenshots from the mac would basically make it a full fledged client without having to port manic time in full - we have several macs in our office which we would love to be able utilize manic time on as well. Thanks for the consideration!

  4. Ability to Zoom Out GUI in ManicTime

    Hi,

I’d like to request a feature for ManicTime that would allow users to zoom out or scale down the graphical user interface (GUI). Currently, the buttons (e.g., "Accept" and "Decline") and other elements appear very large on my screen, making it difficult to navigate and visualize everything properly within the windows.

A zoom-out or scaling option would greatly improve usability for those of us experiencing this issue, especially on high-DPI displays or when using certain resolutions.

Thank you for considering this feature! It would make a big difference in accessibility and user experience.

    Best regards

  5. Ability to define half day leave and public holiday

Ability to define users leave and public holidays with 0.5day granularity.
At least here in Switzerland users have leave granularity of half days and we have some half day public holidays, which can both not be reflected in ManicTime Server.

  6. Support to show Dia browser urls

I would like to suggest an idea to make the URLs from the Dia browser visible in ManicTime as well.

  7. Active timeline view in one universal timezone (e.g. convert to EST)

I manage several contractors (some from Europe and others from South America) and ask them to log their work hours using ManicTime.
Their active timeline shown on the admin view shows each individuals' local time, although they all work according to my work schedule, which is EST.
I'd like the ability to convert individual times to a specific timezone (e.g. EST) so that I can see them in a universal timezone.

  8. Away window on linux

hi, I understand that a full linux version would be a lot of work, and that the tracking works with the client application and an interface can be reached with the server, but i'm missing a key feature: unlike on windows, it doesn't ask me to tag away time upon my return. Is it perhaps possible to implement an away time tagging window for linux?

    Thank you!

  9. Tag shortcuts assignable from Numpad would be nice too.

It is pretty clear from the name of the request. At the moment I have to press the number key above the letters. When it is dark (like now) and my keyboard is dark, it is easier for me to hit the number without looking from the numpad rather then from the top row.

Should not be hard to develop.

  10. Application log should include the skype addresses of people contacted in a Skype call or text

The log currently shows Skype as the application but not who the Skype call or text was from to. This makes it very difficult to tag calls / texts to different projects for time-recording purposes

  11. find overlaps and give option on how to deal

when I am manually tagging time slots I sometimes drag the mouse too far and overlap an already tagged item , especially if the first tag was a very small time (tagged by auto-tag) and is hard to see.

so would be good to have a feature that finds these overlap tags and ask if a person wants to keep the overlap or choose one of them

  12. Compress Scheduled Backup

Currently my daily manic time backups are over 240MB.
ZIP compressed brings it down to 83MB.
I'd like to request an option to compress the sdf backup as a zip file

  13. Saving filter / search request

It would be nice to be able to save filters (or searches, or finds, or whatever you call the box when you Ctrl-F) WITHOUT saving them as an AutoTag.

As far as I can tell, this isn't something that you can do right now on the desktop version.

If I write a complex search string (or even not that complex, but hard to remember) that I expect to use again, the only thing I can do is save it as a text file and copy and paste it back when I next need it.

    Thanks

  15. Screenshot Database for Security Purposes

I like the screenshot feature for myself to remind myself what I was actually doing at a particular time. But the idea of screenshots so plainly visible to anyone with access to that folder means potential security breach and even compromised PII.

If the screenshots could be saved in a small compressed format that could be saved in a secure database with limited retention like a couple days I think that would be a big help. Typically the screenshots are only useful for me when Im performing end of day tagging and I need to remember what I was doing…

  16. Show summary for all devices

I often select applications or documents from the summary listing in the "Tag time" view in ManicTime server, which highlights them in the timeline. But I always have to select the device from the dropdown, because the default selection (Server) only shows tags.

It would be great if there was an "All devices" option in that dropdown, hopefully as the default selection.

You can now include first and last occurrence (last occurrence being the end time of last tag) into the timesheet. Note that this doesn't mean Start time and End time of each tag activity because tags are grouped and summed into one row. If you want each tag separately you can do that by exporting the timeline details.

  18. BUG: after updating description, tag is pushed to Jira as new tag

This creates a duplicate worklog on Jira and potentially future synchronization issues.

Also, tag deletions don't get pushed to Jira at all.

  19. Focus password window when launching from tray

I think it used to do this correctly, but I've noticed in recent versions, when you click the tray icon to launch ManicTime and you have it secured with a password, the password box does not focus when it appears, so you have to click on the box to type the password. I swear you used to be able to click the tray icon and then type your password because the password box had focus. It's a small thing, but a quirky thing...

  20. nightly

Firefox Nightly works almost always like Firefox, but manictime doesn't know that it's more or less the same. Hopefully the firefox document timeline plugin could recognize "Nightly" and "Firefox Developer Edition" with only a minimal adaptation.
