Away window on linux
hi, I understand that a full linux version would be a lot of work, and that the tracking works with the client application and an interface can be reached with the server, but i'm missing a key feature: unlike on windows, it doesn't ask me to tag away time upon my return. Is it perhaps possible to implement an away time tagging window for linux?
Thank you!

Active timeline view in one universal timezone (e.g. convert to EST)
I manage several contractors (some from Europe and others from South America) and ask them to log their work hours using ManicTime.
Their active timeline shown on the admin view shows each individuals' local time, although they all work according to my work schedule, which is EST.
I'd like the ability to convert individual times to a specific timezone (e.g. EST) so that I can see them in a universal timezone.3 votesSetting the time zone in the server settings should work for this (Administration -> Site settings -> Time zone).

Support to show Dia browser urls
I would like to suggest an idea to make the URLs from the Dia browser visible in ManicTime as well.

2 basic essential features missing
Click on URL to open a weblink
Type the date you want to go to. Now I have to click 365 times to go a year ago. Are you joking? What if I want to go 3 years ago or more?

Ability to define half day leave and public holiday
Ability to define users leave and public holidays with 0.5day granularity.
At least here in Switzerland users have leave granularity of half days and we have some half day public holidays, which can both not be reflected in ManicTime Server.3 votesThis was implemented in version 2025.3.

BUG: after updating description, tag is pushed to Jira as new tag
This creates a duplicate worklog on Jira and potentially future synchronization issues.
Also, tag deletions don't get pushed to Jira at all.

Ability to Zoom Out GUI in ManicTime
Hi,
I’d like to request a feature for ManicTime that would allow users to zoom out or scale down the graphical user interface (GUI). Currently, the buttons (e.g., "Accept" and "Decline") and other elements appear very large on my screen, making it difficult to navigate and visualize everything properly within the windows.
A zoom-out or scaling option would greatly improve usability for those of us experiencing this issue, especially on high-DPI displays or when using certain resolutions.
Thank you for considering this feature! It would make a big difference in accessibility and user experience.
Best regards

After the update this week, all fonts are a lot bigger with less overview on screen. Is there a way to scale the fonts?

Compact design choice
The new design of ManicTime 2024.3 may look modern, but it wastes a lot of space with margins and padding that make the timeline and lists look crammed while lots of space is wasted with non functional elements.
It really needs a compact option where white margins and padding are reduced to a minimum like before. Especially for Laptop displays that have small size, the new design is a step backwards.31 votesThis is available in the 2025.1 version (currently in beta, full release is planned within the next two weeks (March 3, 2025 - March 14, 2025))

v2024.3.0.2 Issue with Simplified Chinese font rendering
In version 2024.3.0.2, there is an issue with the Simplified Chinese font rendering, as it seems to be using Japanese glyphs.
1 voteIf the font we use doesn't support a certain language it defaults to windows behaviour.

Make the icons solid rather than outlines
Put the icons back so that that on the stopwatch the Stop and Play buttons have solid symbols rather than outlines. They're too small and fuzzy for just an outline. Now I have to stop and really look. The way they were before this release I didn't even think about it. I know which to press. If you still want to have the little circles around them, that's fine. But at least make Play and Stop solid rather than just outlines.

Improved Virtual Desktop Tracking
I organize my client projects into virtual desktops on Windows 11, with each desktop dedicated to a specific project.
It would be very helpful if the app could better support tracking these virtual desktops. Currently, it’s possible to see which desktop is used, but it’s subtle and not easy to identify. Hovering over the activity status in the timeline shows the active desktop, but this is cumbersome.
Could you add a feature to make the active virtual desktop more visible, perhaps with a color-coded bar or indicator? This would greatly improve usability for tracking project times.
Thanks for considering this…

timesheet
Include Fields Start Time and End Time in Timesheet Group By options
2 votesYou can now include first and last occurrence (last occurrence being the end time of last tag) into the timesheet. Note that this doesn't mean Start time and End time of each tag activity because tags are grouped and summed into one row. If you want each tag separately you can do that by exporting the timeline details.

mac screenshots
Please consider adding ability to send screenshots from mac client to the MT server - looks like server is going to be a viable interface for editing the timeline so adding the ability to save screenshots from the mac would basically make it a full fledged client without having to port manic time in full - we have several macs in our office which we would love to be able utilize manic time on as well. Thanks for the consideration!
3 votesMac client supports screenshots. If you have any problems and do not see them on the server, please send email to support@manictime.com

Automatically update Tag Time Day View after a client syncs
In the day view where you tag time, automatically update the screen after a client syncs or after x minutes.
I like to leave the browser open to the server. Right now, I have to reload the page to see new usage/tags/etc. that have synced. Automatically updating the screen would be helpful when you have multiple clients or with the Mac/Linux clients.
3 votesThe timelines update every minute or after coming back to the tab if the tab was inactive for more than 30 seconds (if there is anything to update of course).

Include billable field in timesheet export
Similar to the option to include Notes in the Timesheet Export, please include "Billable" in the export.
It would be good to be able to see both billable and non-billable lines (separately) in the export. Thanks!
3 votesThis can be done with Group by, Billable

Default Timesheet Settings
Allow us to set default timesheet views. Every time the program restarts, I have to go into the timesheet and change the view that I want to see, "today/billable/time format". I would love to be able to set that as the default, so I don't have to change that every time. I'm sure other people have different settings that they would like to be default to. That would be very helpful, thanks.
