I just realized that hitting F11 (Freeze Sccreenshot) gives me access to that type of functionality. I still think it would make sense to make it always available, considering that the arrow keys are not used otherwise.

Yes! A single screenhots often corresponds to a few seconds, represented by a tiny sliver in the timeline (there are ~86000 seconds in a day). It makes it almost impossible to halt the viewing over a given screenshot in order to inspect it.

this would make navigating the timeline more precise

I agree with both the requirement and the proposed solution. Seems important and probably relatively easy to implement.

I agree 100%: if people have to rely on the software tracking the time, it is essential that it not be stopped accidentally.
Also, please add a keyboard shortcut to open the tag editor, which would be avaible from all views (not the day view only).
