I have a feature request ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Would be great to see a Docker image of the Server

    Would be excellent to be able to spin up a container of the Server without going through some of the other configuration issues. Also if you ported it to .net Core, you could make the server run on Linux pretty easily. Would love to help you with this.

  2. Store "Only billable" option value with saved Timesheet report

    I love the saved Timesheet reports and use them a lot. Once thing I noticed is that when you save a Timesheet with a name, all the criteria is saved - except the "Only billable" option. I have a specific report ("Billable - Last Week") which I use to create invoices for clients, but whenever I open it, I have to click the "Only billable" checkbox, since the fact that it is selected is not stored with the other report criteria.

  3. conditional autotags

    If would be incredibly helpful if the autotags could use conditional logic/rules. Some examples are:

    I would like to append the autotag 'OvertimeRate' to anything in work tags that are matched between 7pm and 7am so I can bill at different rates.

    I would like an autotag only be applied if Tag matching a specific word is not present. This way I will no longer have to spend time checking my timesheet for double billing.

    We should talk about each problem separately, but for tags, do this:

    Click on tag timeline to select it. In filter below type:

    start<7am or start>7pm


    This will include all tags for those times. On right side of Filter box, click on down arrow, choose Add to autotag. Create autotag 'OvertimeRate', then in Autotag editor make it into Append tag.

  4. Automatic fill in-between tagged acitvities

    I use files and filter tags to categorize my time. after I've done this I'm often left with a lot of small strips of tagged time with a lot of small untagged time in between, as shown in the screenshot. In order to know the full time I spent on the activities I need to manually expand the tags to fill the entire time. It would be nice to have an option when we right-click on a selected area, to automatically expand the tags to fill the in-between untagged time according to the surrounding tag. There could be a treshold…

  5. Advanced Search - Remain Open Option

    The 'Advanced Search' Window should have the option for it to remain open after you select an item it found.

    This would be useful when you are exploring your timeline - looking for a specific event, and are trying to isolate it from a number of search results.

    Currently the window closes and you have to reopen, restart the search and find your context all over again.

  6. Sound when an event occurs

    One feature, which has been constantly neglected so far is -- sound --. The idea is to connect a sound with a certain event, usually when a time interval is over.

    To emphasize, that I'm not alone in this wish, I'm summarizing the threads which has also expressed this issue:

    • (37 Votes) Pomodoro settings : - sound notification when the break is over

  7. minimum amount of time before recording

    I'd like to change the minimum amount of time that the application starts recording at. It is currently set at 5 seconds before it records, but id like to change it to 10 seconds before it records.

  8. Save and show screenshots for google chrome

    I can see screenshots for many apps but nothing for google chrome. I would like to see a screenshot of what I was browsing. At least I wish I'd have the full link to those pages.

  9. Add hyperlink: click date in timesheet to take you to the day

    Thank you for allowing us to request features and vote on them.

    My request: When we generate timesheet reports, we may have neglected to enter enough notes for billing or would like to see what else we worked on that day to make sure it was properly tagged. If the date or column was hyperlinked to take us back to the Day tab and to the specific day in question, it would save us the time of having to remember and locate the day.

    I see a plugin for Visual Studio. Can you please create plugins for Notepad++, Visual Studio Code, and Atom.

  11. Saving filter / search request

    It would be nice to be able to save filters (or searches, or finds, or whatever you call the box when you Ctrl-F) WITHOUT saving them as an AutoTag.

    As far as I can tell, this isn't something that you can do right now on the desktop version.

    If I write a complex search string (or even not that complex, but hard to remember) that I expect to use again, the only thing I can do is save it as a text file and copy and paste it back when I next need it.

  12. Android Client should log the names of all used aplications - same way as the desktop app

    Could you please update the Android Client so that it is automatically logging the names of used applications the same way that the desktop application does?

    This is a deal-breaker for a lot of the clients using it. Just seeing active is nice but it would be way more useful if at least the names of the used applications would be logged. And that should be hard to implement in code at all (speaking as a software engineer).

    Can 'X' button in the filter text box to clear the current filter and return to showing all timeline data.

  14. Disable password popup after coming back from away

    I'd like to disable the password protection popup after becoming active from away. Reason: In a company environment, the program can be used in a rogue-like fashion. Currently the password protection popup prevents the program from truly being hidden.

  15. Disable saveing thumbnails of screenshots

    At me, thumbnails need about 40-50 percent of diskspace.
    So it should be possible to disable generation of thumbnails.

    And MaincTime should ignore missing thumbnails (*_thumbnail.jpg)
    If I delete thumbnails manualy, many exceptions in errors.log generated

  17. More shortcuts please...

    It would be nice to be able to use more shortcuts. For example: Create Autotag rule, Copy Autotags to tag timeline etc. The ideal solution would be to have the opportunity to assign shortcut to every function.

  18. Statistics or weekdays and hour of a day

    Hello,

    I would like to be able to see usage statistics about different weekdays (i.e. Monday, Sunday...) in a given period (i.e. last year).

    I would also like to be able to see usage statistics about different hours of a day (i.e. from 12:00 to 13:00) in a given period (i.e. last year).

  19. Compress Scheduled Backup

    Currently my daily manic time backups are over 240MB.
    ZIP compressed brings it down to 83MB.
    I'd like to request an option to compress the sdf backup as a zip file

  20. Manic time Skype call plugin for skype preview app

    The new Skype app for windows 10 is nice. but am forced to use the old desktop version as the skype calls plugin works only with the desktop version. It would be great if the plugin works for the new app too
