I have a feature request ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

  1. Open more instances of ManicTime simultaneously

    It would be very helpful if I would be able to open ManicTime Desktop for a second time.
    Now when I'm working on an old day I have to quit doing that to Tag something of today.
    Or when I'm improving and testing AutoTags I can't look up what I need, because I'm in editing mode.

  2. Clear filter shortcut

    Application shortcuts - General - Add a shortcut function for "Clear filter".
    It doesn't have to assigned to a key by default, although I would like to use the ESC key.

    To reach for the mouse to hit the X button on the filter line or ctrl-F, shift-END, DEL is the only options right now.

  3. Set default for "Go off the record" context menu on tray icon

    On Windows, the context menu of ManicTime's tray icon has "Go off the record" with a sub-menu for the desired duration. But if the user clicks on "Go off the record" directly, the default is "Until you turn on".

    The best would be to not do anything and force users to make a selection in the sub-menu, but now that it's been like that for a while, the best alternative would be the option to set which timeframe is used.

    The number of times I've lost a long period of tracking because of this...

    Or a setting to be reminded…

  5. Modify the program name in the statistics

    Because of my personal hobbies, I have play some gal game. But sometimes, this gal will have same program name in statistics. I can't distinguish this. I'd like to be able to roll out a feature to change the name of a program in the stats

  6. add new permission on User management

    I would like to you can add new feature that anyone can see work time of all employee of company and can't see screenshot. because screenshot has many personality info.

  7. Option to hide tags and notes in the recent tags list

    When I come back from idle I see all my recent tags and notes on the side, but I don't want anyone touching the mouse of my computer to see all my tags and notes. It would be nice to have instead some button to show this list.

    You can either disable the Away view from showing or you can password protect it (you have to enter a password every time before the Away view is shown). You can do both in the "Privacy and notifications" section of the settings.

  8. App management

    I move all applications into folders and use auto tag (folder="XXX"). It would be nice to move those apps or documents to specified folders in bulk.
    In Statistics tab, there is the right opportunity to do so 1) or even add more options for data manipulation other than from the Search or Timeline window 2).

  9. Make timers more visual

    Visual timers are things we often use as children to learn about time, but they remain useful for many adults.

    They are especially recommended to those with time blindness (a common challenge for neurodivergent individuals - especially those with ADHD).

    Currently the timer features in Manic Time show only a numeric indicator (like how many minutes and seconds until the current pomodoro session is over. (this is true also when the window is minimised)

    Adding an optional/customisable display style for the existing timers would be a great option for everyone, but it can be of immense benefit for those who…

  10. Add additional info in Internal notes

    When exporting your timesheet, you can add notes.
    However, sometimes I want to include additional information in the notes that should not appear on my invoices.
    Therefore, it would be useful to have internal notes available either beside or below the regular notes.

  11. Ability to print all activites during a given day....similar to Journal in MS Office

    Similar to the former Journal option in MS Office, I'd like to print a list of all emails, and documents I've worked on during a given day.

  12. BUG: ghost tooltip after closing "Tag last untagged" window

    1. Open "Tag last untagged time"
    2. Hover over "X" close button until tooltip appears.
    3. Close the window with Alt+F4 Result: the tooltip remains and is not erased no matter what else you do. The only workaround is to restart ManicTime.

  13. screenshot push only from specific site/workplace to save bandwidth

    The goal is to make screenshot upload only happen manually (when I click send now button) while I am remote. But as soon as I get back to the office screenshots can upload immediately without user interaction as usual.

    When running on limited data this would be a useful feauture and would allow using core features without screenshot when required.

    I am using the linux client primarily - if that makes a difference.

  14. sedentary reminder

    I hope to add a "sedentary reminder" function, which allows users to freely set the reminder time, such as being active for half an hour, being reminded near the window, and allowing users to stand up and engage in activities，Thank you

  15. ability to fill previous document timeline after loading new tracker plugin (by clicking a button or something like that)

    for example, i wrote a plugin for Autodesk Motionbuilder, the ProcessName is 'motionbuilder', and the Application Name showed in ManicTime is 'Autodesk Motionbuilder'.
    when i click a button, manictime let me select a tracker plugin and an Application. then search the recorded Application infos, apply the string split rules to and get Document info. finally fill them into previous Document timeline

  16. Extend/Shrink start/end of a selected tag using keyboard shortcut

    Extend/Shring start/end of a selected tag using keyboard shortcuts.
    When selecting a tag on timeline, If I need to extend/shrink its start/end to a specific point in time, the normal way to do this is to mouse drag the start/end edge to the desired point on the timeline.

    It would be more easier and efficient if there exist the following keyboard shortcuts:
    - keyboard shortcut to move (extend/shrink) the selected tag's start edge to the current mouse's position on the timeline and another one for the end edge.

  17. Custom title: Easier creation / sharing and application to past data (of limited range, e.g. past 7 days)

    It would be great if the CustomTitle.txt feature would get a community source so that not every user has to re-invent the wheel and has to write a regex for every application.
    Similar to the plugin management, a searchable online repository that can be used to add lines to CustomTitle.txt would be great, with an online suggestion feature to add new entries.
    Please also keep the plaintext file and openness of this feature even with this addition.

    Similarly, it would be great to apply new CustomTitle.txt document/application regex rules to the recorded data of the past 7 days.

  18. Option for Day Timeline to flow vertically

    The program I use to enter my time uses a top down 9 - 5 display that I cant change, hopefully this is something that can be done on this side :)

  19. Minimal time for AutoTag entry

    Some activities that are auto tagged by location are taking more time in reality. So it would be great to be able to set a minimal value for auto expanding the time into it, or some padding values (+/- 3 minutes). For example my commute is always measured by the time that my vehicle is in movement (about 6 minutes), however, I'd like to automatically add to that time 3 minutes before and after the movement for the preparing, as it takes time to pack, to take my vehicle out of the garage, etc.

  20. Monitoring of applications running in the background (applications of our choice)

    I am listening to music on Spotify but something else is open on my window screen.

    Therefore, the application cannot detect the Spotify application running in the background.

    Since we cannot monitor all background applications, in fact, if we select certain programs in the settings section and then say watch even if these programs run in the background, we can watch the applications we want running in the background.

    I am waiting for your comments in this way.
