  1. Ability to encrypt ManicTime Screenshots on client prior upload to Server to maintain privacy

When synchronizing data with manic time Server, all data (timeline, screenshot) etc. is available on manic time Server transparently to admins. This might be useful in some Environments. However, to us this means that we cannot protect our employee’s privacy when they synchronize with a corporate ManicTime server. If we had the option to encrypt content (especially screenshots) on the Client with a secret key only known to the employee’s manic time Desktop Instance (employee decides on which device he or she uses the key), we could protect the employees privacy and also provide the ability to synchronize multiple Clients…

  2. Automatically end stopwatch when inactive

I really love the tool. However, it would be great to automatically stop the stopwatch whenever I go inactive, as I do not want overlapping tags since during inactivity I am usually not continuing the task of the stopwatch.

  3. Clio integration

All the lawyers I work with have loved ManicTime when I've shown it to them, but they aren't willing to switch to a program that isn't compatible with the systems they use at their firms. Clio, in particular, is very widely used, but the process for exporting time from ManicTime and into Clio is really clunky and time-consuming. Setting up that integration would open ManicTime up to a big universe of new customers.

Since you have ConnectWise integration -- it seems like you might also consider providing Autotask integration (www.autotask.net).

  6. Make Skype Calls Timeline work again

Skype calls timeline doesn't currently work. It says "Skype database schema is not valid" when you try to add the skype timeline.

It would be great if Manictime could be updated to work with the new skype database structure.

  7. Differentiate Between Chrome and Canary Chrome

I do most of all my internet browsing in normal Chrome, but I use Canary for developing (https://www.google.com/chrome/canary/). It would be useful to see 2 applications: Chrome and Chrome Canary. This way I can automatically tag based on application.

  8. Minimum Activity Duration - UPDATE/FIX

Currently the minimum activity duration does not work as a user would expect it.

    Example:

I set it to 60 seconds.

I have Chrome open for 5 minutes, this all works good.
I then have outlook open for 40 seconds
I then have calculator open for 30 seconds.
It will list that I have had calculator open for 70 seconds total when it fact that is incorrect.

My suggestion would be to keep it as the main application Google Chrome until I have had another application open for more than my specified time eg I have calculator open for more…

  11. Space to select entries/folders, left-right to collapse-expand folders

When checking the "Day" view, on the left bottom pane you can use Space to select properly. It select/deselects the highlighted line.

BUT on the right bottom pane Space behaves oddly. To be precise it selects/deselects the checkbox the focus is on, not the line which is highlighted.

... and when you introduce folders also the only way to expand/collapse it apart from clicking on the +/- before it is to focus on the +/- icon and push "Space".

  12. Export video timelapse

I'd like to be able to show my clients exactly why I'm billing them for 4 (or 44) hours work. Even if the timelpase option was only available per day this would be great. FFMPEG has done the heavy lifting. All you need is to put the jpegs into an array and send them off to FFMPEG. You'd need to specify an output folder in manic time options and bobs your uncle. I have done this manually but its a faff:
Select only jpegs (not thumbnails). Rename as a sequence, send to video converter.

  13. Custom alert for Tag level 1 based on duration for specific period (month)

The possibility to set an alarm would be VERY very helpful, if in a certain period (e.g. month) a certain tag on level 1 (!) Has done a user-defined number of hours.

In this way, a service contingent for a specific customer can be tracked and maintained very easily.

Or does something already exist? So far, you can only create notes for a day and not at the tag level.

I would be happy if that would work.

  14. Alphabetize Recent Tags

I have a lot of active tags at any point in time, so I show 40 recent tags (Settings->Display). It would be helpful if those tags appeared alphabetically.

  16. Improved Virtual Desktop Tracking

I organize my client projects into virtual desktops on Windows 11, with each desktop dedicated to a specific project.

It would be very helpful if the app could better support tracking these virtual desktops. Currently, it’s possible to see which desktop is used, but it’s subtle and not easy to identify. Hovering over the activity status in the timeline shows the active desktop, but this is cumbersome.

Could you add a feature to make the active virtual desktop more visible, perhaps with a color-coded bar or indicator? This would greatly improve usability for tracking project times.

    Thanks for considering this…

  17. Cisco PBX call tracking timeline

Record start/end time, number, name or other identifying information on a separate timeline

The Cisco system (and others, I'm guessing) have web portals (and hopefully APIs) for individual users to access their call records from a central place, but those would require authentication to a central system.

I was able to dial my attached phone from within Outlook and from a company web phone directory, a la Skype, though, so there is some sort of mechanism to control the physical phone itself from the desktop. Hopefully this control would also include the ability to read that phone's call log, rather…

  20. Pomodoro Timer steals focus: use system tray pop up as an option

Currently, the pomodoro timer opens a window that steals the focus from the current application.
While this might be good to signal the break, it can also affect current work. Especially when working with graphic or engineering applications where a single command might take several minutes (e.g. using a polygon mask in a graphics program), this might jeopardize the work of the user, making the technique inefficient.

Therefore I'd like to suggest to implement an option where a system tray popup is shown instead. When the user clicks the pop up, the window to tag the break is shown (as…
