1. MCP: Access and aggregate timelines from all my workstations via on-prem ManicTime Server

   I’m using the latest beta with MCP Server and I’d like support for querying timelines from my on-prem ManicTime Server across all environments linked to my same user account.

   I often work across multiple machines (local workstation + remote desktop via RDP). Today, my local timeline mostly shows Remote Desktop Connection, while the detailed activity (Applications, Documents, Websites, etc.) is captured on the remote workstation timeline. This splits my work context across devices and makes MCP-based analysis incomplete unless I manually reconcile timelines.

   I’d like MCP to support cross-workstation timeline access and aggregation for a single user identity, sourced from on-prem server data.

   What I’m asking for

   Ability for MCP to query timelines from multiple environments/workstations under the same ManicTime user account.
   Ability to filter by environment and/or aggregate results across environments in one request.
   Consistent support for core timeline/summary types (Applications, Documents, Websites, Tags, Computer Usage) across those environments.
   Optional de-duplication/merge logic for overlapping intervals when combining timelines.

   Why this matters

   RDP-heavy workflows are common, and local-only timeline access misses most real activity context.
   Cross-device visibility would significantly improve accuracy of reporting, tagging, and analytics.
   This would make MCP much more useful for users working in hybrid local/remote setups with on-prem ManicTime Server.

   Example outcome

   A single MCP query for “my activity from 2026-03-09 08:00–17:00” returns a combined timeline view from both my local machine and remote workstation(s), with environment metadata preserved.

2. milage from ios to timeline

   it would be great if the trimline view of an ios manic time client could show the miles traveled - currently I have to open manic time on the Ios device to get this info - would be seamless if i could get it from the main manic time client while i'm tagging time.

3. Exclude/Include screenshots for specified window titles

   At the moment, you can exclude/include certain processes to grab screenshots (using the "Do not track all processes" option). However, more and more applications are web-based and appear in the the process list as msedge. This means that it's not possible to include/exclude these apps for the screenshot generator.

   To support this, it would be great if "Do not track all processes" allowed the ability to specify window titles (with wildcards) as well as process names so that we can include/exclude these apps.

4. Time Zone-Aware Working Time and New Team Management Permissions

   Dear ManicTime Team,
   We are using ManicTime Server 2026.x to manage a distributed software development team working across multiple countries and time zones. We would like to request the following enhancements.

   1. Calculate Daily Working Time Based on Each User's Time Zone

   Currently, the Daily Status report does not correctly represent the working day for users in different time zones.
   We would like ManicTime to calculate each user's daily working time based on their assigned time zone, rather than the server's time zone.
   For example:
   * Developer A: UTC+8
   * Developer B: UTC+1
   * Developer C: UTC-5
   Each developer's daily work should be calculated according to their local calendar day (00:00–23:59 in their own time zone).

   2. Time Zone-Aware Active Time

   The Active Time category should also use each user's local time zone when calculating daily totals.
   This ensures that reports remain accurate for globally distributed teams.

   3. Display User Time Zone in Daily Status

   Please add a Time Zone column to the Daily Status report.
   Example:

   4. Team Manager Permission (Without Screenshot Access)

   We would like a new permission for team managers.
   A user with this role should be able to:
   * View the Active Time of team members
   * View Daily Status
   * View attendance and working hours
   * View reports for their assigned team only

   However, they should not be able to:
   * View screenshots
   * Access screenshot history
   * Change server settings
   * View data from other teams
   * Perform administrative tasks

   This would allow organizations to delegate team management while protecting employee privacy and limiting administrative access.

   Benefits

   These features would greatly improve ManicTime for organizations managing distributed teams by:
   * Providing accurate daily working time across different time zones.
   * Improving reporting for remote and global teams.
   * Allowing team leads and project managers to monitor productivity without granting access to sensitive screenshot data.
   * Supporting role-based access control with better privacy and security.

   ManicTime on my Android used to provide very useful phone activity timelines such as app usage and phone calls. On iPhone, the current ManicTime app appears to support only location tracking, manual tags, and stopwatch entries.

   Please consider adding automatic iOS activity timelines, especially:

   • App usage timeline from iOS Screen Time / Device Activity data
   • Phone call timeline or call-duration import where iOS allows it
   • Syncing this mobile activity into ManicTime Server / Desktop like other timelines

   Use case: when I work away from my computer, many work activities happen on iPhone — calls, messaging apps, browser research, and other apps. Without these timelines, my mobile time is mostly invisible.

   The local MCP server exposes timelines, activities, and tag
   writes but no way to reach captured screenshots. This blocks
   on-device AI pipelines that would enrich time tracking with
   vision/OCR — auto-tag suggestions from on-screen content,
   searchable visual history, session recaps.

   Proposal — two tools, paths only, reusing the existing query
   surface:

   • listscreenshots(fromTime, toTime, filter?)
     Returns [{ id, timestamp, absolutePath, width, height,
     sizeBytes, linkedActivityIds }]. Filter reuses the OData
     grammar from getcombined_activities so queries like
     "screenshots while Tag contains 'CW-10269'" work without
     new syntax.

   • getscreenshotpath(id)
     Returns the absolute path for a single screenshot.
     Convenience wrapper for follow-up lookups.

   Binary content stays on disk. The consumer opens files
   directly. Zero MCP bandwidth, no base64 in context.

   save_tag_activities requires a closed interval. Agent workflows
   that need to "start working on X now, stop later — possibly from a
   different session or device" have no place to hold the in-flight
   state. Workarounds (conversation-history search, sidecar state
   stores, 1-second placeholder tags) are all brittle and duplicate
   logic ManicTime should own.

   Proposed minimal addition to the MCP surface — no change to the
   core tag data model, server-side state only:

   • startactivetag(tagCombination, notes?, startTime?) Record a running timer. startTime defaults to now.
   • getactivetag() Return { tagCombination, notes, startTime } or null.
   • stopactivetag(endTime?, tagMode?) -> TagActivity Close the timer via existing savetagactivities logic. endTime defaults to now. Clears active state.

   Single active tag per user is sufficient for v1. This lets AI
   agents use ManicTime as the source of truth for "currently working
   on" state — the same role the desktop stopwatch plays for humans —
   instead of inventing parallel state stores.

9. Option to expand toolbar buttons

   Please provide an option to expand toolbar buttons for Select only untagged/Show only untagged/Select All and Copy Autotags. They used to be separate buttons but an update combined them into a dropdown menu. This is tedious to do repeatedly, and also because the button icons are so similar, it requires reading the text to confirm which button to select.

   I assume the combination was done to support lower resolution monitors, but on my 1920 pixel monitor, I have as much white space as buttons.

10. Clip Studio Paint File Reading

    Right now, ManicTime does not read the file names of things open in Clip Studio Paint...I know that's oddly specific, but it is one of the main graphics programs I use. I tried to set up auto tagging including keywords from file names to automate my time tracking, but about half the data for all my projects still has to be tagged manually anyway because it doesn't "see" them. I'm not exactly sure how Clip Studio is different that it doesn't recognize them, but I would like it to!

    Notice that in the screenshot, the time for clip studio shows nothing in documents and therefore cannot autotag.

12. Support for Planview Project Advantage (formerly Sciforma)

    My company migrated from Jira Tempo to Project Advantage (formerly Sciforma) by Planview for timesheet management. https://www.planview.com/products-solutions/products/planview-projectadvantage/

    I would appreciate a plugin offering functionality similar to the Jira one: retrieving project and assignment tags, along with the ability to export timesheets to Project Advantage.

13. Add a "Select All" checkbox in Search feature on ManicTime Cloud

    I use ManicTime Cloud website to bulk tag time entries. I use Search, type in my keyword, and then either click "Tag All" or "Tag Selected."

    It would be helpful if there was a checkbox for "Select All." If my Search returns 150 results, sometimes "Tag All" works fine. But what if there are 20 to 30 out of the 150 results that I do NOT want tagged? Then I have to manually select the ones I want tagged by clicking the boxes 120 times. But if I could click a box at the top for "Select All," and then go down and UN-check the boxes for the ones I don't want tagged, then I could use the "Tag Selected" button and accomplish my goal quicker.

14. Integrate the used virtual desktop into the Excel export based on usage status.

    I organize my todo´s using virtual desktops in Windows 11. Since sureface changes seem to take forever to take effect, it would be very helpful if the currently used virtual desktop could be added to the Excel export. As this information is already available in the interface, this should be relatively quick to implement.

15. Mouse-click and keyboard usage heatmap

    For mouse usage: Log every click position on the screen. Generate a daily, monthly, and yearly heatmap that visually represents click density. Use a gradient color scheme — warm colors for high-frequency click zones, and cool colors for low-frequency zones.

    For keyboard usage: Similarly, track every key press. Analyze which keys are hit most often, and provide per-application breakdowns. This would allow users to see, for example, which shortcuts or letters dominate their typing in a browser, code editor, or game.

    The goal is to help users understand their own interaction patterns, optimize workflows, and identify repetitive strain risks.

16. Usage Details Timesheet Report - Other Timelines (Outlook Calendar, etc.)

    The usage details timesheet report is incredibly powerful for feeding into a GPT (enterprise restrictions don't allow me to use the MCP yet), alongside a standard tag-based timesheet. The GPT is then able to scrub and augment the standard timesheet based on the more detailed usage details report.

    Can the usage details report also include the other timelines, most specifically, my Outlook Calendar timeline?

    i would like to be able to mark a day as fully tagged - using a button a checkbox in day pane.
    This marks that all activities that should have been tagged by user has already been tagged, even if there are untagged time ranges.

19. Export/import of settings

    There should be a more user friendly way to export certain settings for quick setup on multiple devices.

    At the moment there's no way at all to export settings of the client.

    There's no way to export everything in one step either (tags, auto tags, timelines).

    Best would be to combine it in the "Import and Export" command/popup and have the possibility there to export either separate things or all in one zip archive.
    Same with import.

20. Include miles traveled in mobile version

    I do a lot of business travel, and it would help me immensely if the mobile app would send miles traveled (as it is already displayed) to the server so I can export this for my billing.
