linux client time away tracking configuration
Hi, I've just realize that among a lot of possible tweaks on windows desktop client, you can configure the away time.
Unfortunantly I can't find this tweak on linux client. I would like to tweak it, even if I should find an XML file and change data in there.
Thanks for your attention.5 votes -
Point in Time Markers
Ability to add Point-In-Time Markers to any of the timelines.
I have a custom timeline that pulls from a local web source - it shows me my telephone logs - incoming and outgoing calls. Timelines work great for that because there is a start and a finish.
I want to also show when I receive and send SMS messages as well. I can already import them from my phone - but they are point in time - not duration.
Right-click -> Add Marker
Select the Icon, enter the time it occurred at, one or more tags, and notes. It would…

Shortcut for assigning last chosen tag
I often repeatedly tag the same project for separate working times on the same day. (In review of past working week.) it would be great to have a shortcut to tag the selected time using the last chosen tag. This is similar to MS Office using F4 to repeat last formatting.

No backups when on battery
I use ManicTime on my laptop. On the very rare occasion I have had to be mobile with my laptop but the backup runs while on battery power which then causes the battery to deplete faster than I would like. It would be great for ManicTime to detect if it is running on battery or mains and only run the backup when on mains.

Improved Virtual Desktop Tracking
I organize my client projects into virtual desktops on Windows 11, with each desktop dedicated to a specific project.
It would be very helpful if the app could better support tracking these virtual desktops. Currently, it’s possible to see which desktop is used, but it’s subtle and not easy to identify. Hovering over the activity status in the timeline shows the active desktop, but this is cumbersome.
Could you add a feature to make the active virtual desktop more visible, perhaps with a color-coded bar or indicator? This would greatly improve usability for tracking project times.
Thanks for considering this…

Locking my Computer would pause a running timer
When running a timer sometimes i walk off for a cuppa :). Would it be possible that the timer pauses. Otherwise when I come back i have overlapping time.
When I leave my computer I always lock it. So could it be the following;
1. Timer is running
2. Computer locks which pauses timer
3. Return and unlock computer (I get prompted for away time :)
4. Timer continues for previous job or prompts if i wish to continue.4 votes -
Change note separator on QuickBooks interface
I love how MT allows me to take notes throughout a day, even as I work on different clients and projects, and each client's notes are combined into a single billable total with all the notes in QuickBooks. This is a great capability.
Small request...When I work several times throughout a day for a given client, and record a separate note each time, the individual notes are passed to QuickBooks combined but automatically separated by a semicolon (;).
I wonder if this feature could be configurable to suppress the semicolon, or specify a space, or a period. Personally, I prefer…

Clicking an entry on the Timesheet will navigate you to that entry on the Day timeline.
On the TimeSheet when total by 'Day' is selected, I would like to be able to click on a time entry in the timesheet tab and have the application navigate to the first entry on the timeline of the Day tab.
When I performed this action, ideally the timeline would grey or filter out all other tags and only display the tag I am investigating.
When I identify an entry in the timeline that needs adjusted it is necessary for me to make a note of that day, the tag of the time entry and use the date control on…

Sum of active time shown on analytics/timeline
I review my employees time on web app screen analytics/timeline. I need to know the total activate time and look at the applications and files they had open. So it would be great to have the sum of active time to left or right of Computer usage bar

Stealth Mode
Would like a method of installation that is completely invisible, non-stoppable by the end user of the computer. For them to review their timeline, etc., they could use the browser interface at the server via HTTPS. Preferably, the entire desktop piece would run in an unstoppable Windows Service.

Highlight "Billable" attribute on timeline
There is no way to quickly recognize billable time on Tags timeline. Auto-tags can display a red streak for auto-closed tags. Use the same visual mechanism on tags timeline denoting billable activities. (Billable? Tag has a green streak.)
(The visualization may be optional as someone may not like it.)

Allow event listener for extensibility API
An nice and elegant idea to open a lot of extensibility scenarios would be the ability to create plugins that register a listener to an event in the application (all the major ones) and then execute code based on that.
One of the scenario I've in mind : I love the pomodoro technique so to reduce interruptions, I would want to "catch" the event at the start of a pomodoro to set my IM presence status to busy and set it back to available when no pomodoro is active. This way, my coworkers would always know when I'm available. It…

Would really like a screenshot playback like movie option from server to quickly review employee activity
I'm a consultant, and some of my clients use monitoring software. One of the features they want is the ability to view screenshots like a movie for a given user or workstation from the server. They run random audits where a supervisor comes into the office sits down with management at the server login and quickly runs through a few days of employee activity by watching the "movie" of screen shots.
Would love to see this in ManicTime Server. If it were added I might be able to sell some clients on this solution.4 votes -
Ability to Edit Entries and Tags from the Timesheet Window and to be Able to Set Entries as Billable
I rely greatly on the timesheet window to see what I have completed workwise. It would greatly benefit how I use ManicTime if I was able to edit entries and tags from within the timesheet window and to be able to set entries as billable from the Timesheet window as well

Jira Plugin: Review remaining estimate
We're facing troubles with poor reviewing remaining estimate after company-wide manictime deployment with Jira integration.
The main trouble is that marking time is very easy but there is no feedback about remaining estimate.
I think there could be pretty easy solution in visualization of remaining work to see directly what is user updating and with which result.

easier access to tag editor
Current design: the tag editor is hidden away as the only item of an unnamed drop down menu at the left side edge of the tags timeline, which also means it takes two clicks to get to it. This also leads to a slightly confusing unused vertical area across all tag lines.
Proposed solution: add a tag editor button to the Tags group in the Day ribbon.
